1990

  • Eastfield's modernisation continues, No's 39-44.
  • A further 6 houses modernised at Fallowfield.
  • The Society now has more than 500 properties in its ownership.
  • New NFHA model rules adopted, principally to assist the Society in its borrowing arrangements necessary following the introduction of the last Housing Act.
  • HRH The Duke of Edinburgh formally opens Lilley Close, a scheme of 10 bungalows and 4 flats to be occupied by the Society's existing elderly tenants.

1991

  • 8 houses at Eastfield modernised.
  • Project at 73 Fallowfield completed, to provide self-contained disabled family unit achieving a Design Award.
  • 9 houses at Fallowfield improved.

1992

  • The first Housing Corporation grant is received towards the costs of the improvements to properties on the Fallowfield estate, 12 properties modernised.
  • Eastfield, phase 7, completed 12 properties.
  • The first major repairs grant received.
  • Local Authority offer funding for the Southside scheme.
  • Work starts for the Southside development, the demolition of 14 properties and erection of 2 houses, 9 bungalows and 26 flats. The total scheme cost £1.4m.

1993

  • The Society's Jubilee Year”. 60 years in the provision of good housing.
  • Completion of an agreement with Fairclough Homes for 9 houses at Fen Ditton. 5 of these to be sold on a shared ownership basis.
  • 12 houses at Fallowfield modernised.
  • Southside redevelopment scheme completed.
  • Total financial transactions during the year exceed £6m.

1994

  • Land purchased at Landbeach to provide village homes for village people.
  • A partnership scheme with the Parish Council and South Cambs District Council and the first of such to be granted Planning Permission for development on green belt land.
  • An Agreement concluded with a Developer to provide social housing to comply with a Section 106 condition, the first such partnership to be arranged in Cambridge City.
  • 17 homes at Fallowfield improved, partly funded by Cambridge City Council as a result of the Society redeeming a mortgage with the Local Authority and the capital was then reinvested as grant.
  • The annual revenue from rents exceeds £1m.

1995

  • 8 houses completed at Landbeach, 3 of which are shared ownership.
  • 16 flats at Bradmore Court completed, and let to Cambridge City tenants underoccupying family houses, so that these homes could subsequently be relet more suitably.
  • A small area of land was purchased at Cottenham.
  • 4 homes at Fallowfield were improved.
  • Considerable progress with a programme for UPVC replacement windows on the 1960's estates.

1996

  • 4 houses completed at Cottenham let to people with a local connection.
  • Housing Act (1996) altered the grants system, and in consequence no applications submitted for funding at Fallowfield.

1997

  • Two houses at Fallowfield demolished and five 2 bed bungalows for elderly tenants erected in their place.
  • Discussions commenced with Anglia Housing Group regarding possibility of Hundred Houses Society becoming member of Group.
  • £380K spent on improvements excluding maintenance.
  • Three houses at Fallowfield improved.

1998

  • A Special General Meeting of shareholders agrees the rule changes necessary for the Society to join the Anglia Group, the legal effective date of joining the partnership is 14 September.
  • The Society agrees a lease with Peterborough City Council to enable the refurbishment of a block of flats to proceed.
  • Following completion of this project, the Society employs a new member of staff and opens a Peterborough office.
  • 5 houses at Fallowfield improved and a comprehensive plan for the redevelopment of the estate is adopted.
  • Society purchases 4 one bed houses in Huntingdonshire, with grant funding

1999

  • 2 Fallowfield houses demolished, and 3 built in the same footprint
  • Society purchases 2 houses in Cambridge, for extension to provide 4 bedroomed properties, with grant funding
  • Houses at Fallowfield modernised
