 1940

  • The Society became a Member of the National Federation of Housing Associations. An amendment to the Rules now reads: “the object of the Society shall be to carry on the industry, business or trade of providing housing and any associated amenities for persons mainly of the working classes in Cambridge.”

1941

  • Scotland Farm was requisitioned for allotment use during the war years.

1942

  • The Society obtains Charitable Status, and is registered under the Industrial and Provident Societies Acts.
