Southside Court Time Capsule buried in the 1990s
Eastfield was built with the road forming a half cirle. The centre of this was the site of a mediaeval moated farm. Then, rough waste land, it was used by children to play. Some of the tenants got together and a Tenants Association formed ‘to infuse a spirit of friendliness on the estate and to discuss the planning of a children's playground, the planting of trees and to form a social side’. They installed swings, a sandpit, and a seat for adults.
